We train and develop artisan communities and bring their handicrafts to the global market through our KALAPURI platform.

Kalapuri offers artisanal products created by rural craftsmen from Kolhapur, Maharashtra. These artisans are gifted with traditional talent and skills to create exquisite models in styles that are unique to their culture and heritage. Kalapuri products provide contemporary designs, all at a reasonable price. The proceeds of the sale help these craftspeople to help themselves. Kalapuri's purpose is to inspire women from underprivileged backgrounds to learn new talents, to give them the self-confidence and self-esteem they need to make money by their own initiative and industry, and to enable them to take their newly acquired skill and confidence out into the world. Kalapuri recognizes the rich history and traditions of these rural people and incorporates them into their goods by combining traditional art with current designs and sophisticated methods.

As a brand, Kalapuri Handicrafts constitutes traditional apparels like nauwari saree, dhoti uparna, pheta, Gandhi topi, baniya topi; Footwear like Kolhapuri chappals, kapashi chappals, kurundwadi chappals; fashion jewellery kolhapuri jewellery, kolhapuri saaj, Kolhapuri thushi, manchali, bormal; Bags like kottans, baskets, handbags; Home décor like terracotta miniatures, terracotta dinnerware, terracotta kitchenware, mahalaxmi / balaji / tulja bhawani / ganpati / jotiba god frames, and many more. Hundreds of rural craftsmen have been recognized as Kalapuri as a possible source of income. Kalapuri has made a tremendous difference in the lives of the women artisans who work with it, improving their economic and social standing.
